The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC)  announced yesterday that international data protection authorities have endorsed a  Global Cross Border Enforcement Cooperation Arrangement.  In its news release, the OPC states that the "arrangement sets out ground rules for the sharing of confidential information related to enforcement work.

Privacy Class Action against Apple Refused

The British Columbia Superior Court (BCSC) has refused to certify a class action proceeding against Apple, Inc. regarding the recording of location data on iOS4 devices.  Specifically, the plaintiff alleged breach of privacy on the basis "that Apple designed and produced iOS4 so as to record and store locational data on iDevices in unencrypted form, for long periods of time, and to copy the unencrypted data onto computers when iDevices were being synchronized."
