Joanna is a member of Heenan Blaikie’s Privacy and Information Management group. Joanna advises clients on a wide range of privacy compliance initiatives, including conducting privacy and security reviews/audits; drafting privacy policies, practices and procedures; managing privacy/security breaches; assisting with investigations by privacy regulatory authorities; and drafting outsourcing and other service provider agreements involving transfers (including transborder flows) of personal information. She also advises clients on privacy issues in mergers and acquisitions and with respect to carrying on business over the Internet.
Joanna is a contributor to Heenan Blaikie's electronic guide to Ontario's public sector access and privacy legislation. The guide, AccessPrivacy.ca, is an innovative tool to assist institutions and the public to understand the developments of the law in these areas.
